My work with Brisbane Economic Development Agency involves:
Managing the bid process to secure national and international conferences to Brisbane. I work with clients, industry and members to highlight Brisbane’s key strengths and ideal facilities through preparing bid proposals, presentations, lobbying decision-makers and hosting city site inspections.
The best thing about working in the business events industry is:
Getting to educate people from all over the world about the fantastic facilities, experiences, people and research going on in Brisbane.
The most crucial aspect of managing a conference bid process is:
Understanding what the key decision-makers are really looking for in a host destination.
One of the key things clients look for in a business events destination is:
Strong local support from the respective industry sector.
One of Brisbane’s most unique selling points as a business events destination is:
The ability to experience such a wide variety of Australian experiences all within one hour from the CBD.
One of the greatest challenges facing the international business events industry right now is:
Safety and security of delegates to travel to events. This is a key concern in the current climate, and Australia can offer a safe and stable destination option.
My favourite restaurant is Brisbane is:
Madame Wu – it’s hard to beat their duck buns and Malteser espresso martinis with a river view!
My perfect holiday would be:
Next on my wish-list is Sri Lanka, followed by some cocktails on a Maldives island.
I’m inspired by:
The general excitement and buzz about Brisbane and all of the new development going on here – Brisbane is the place to be.
