Asia Pacific Screen Awards

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards is the region's highest accolade in film. From the star-studded red carpet to the sophisticated ceremony, the annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is a night to honour cinematic excellence from the culturally-rich Asia Pacific region.

Established in 2008, APSA represent the world’s fastest-growing film region encompassing 70 countries, 4.5 billion people and half the world's film output. During its bountiful first decade, APSA has seen more than 2500 films in competition. United by their diversity, each film has told its own story, in its own way, from its own country of origin. Every year, the nominees,

winners and jurors join the APSA Academy, a prestigious group of the world’s most successful and acclaimed film experts and practitioners including Cannes Film Festival and Academy Award® winners.

The Awards have been a driving force in attracting a film conferences to Brisbane, contributing to the city’s burgeoning reputation as a hotbed for film business. APSA has also grown to encompass a year-round local and international program of screenings, masterclasses and industry events, furthering its mission to connect the Asia Pacific through powerful, culturally-diverse stories.

APSA is an initiative of Brisbane City Council through Brisbane Marketing and is endorsed by foundation partners UNESCO and FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations).
