Brisbane to kick off Rugby Tens day-night thriller
Brisbane is set to kick off the rugby year with 14 world-class teams to descend on Suncorp Stadium for the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens day-night tournament on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 February.
Last year’s inaugural tournament proved to be a thriller and this year’s new day-night format will provide plenty of opportunities to catch the action or embrace the atmosphere in the surrounding Caxton Street precinct.
The 10-a-side tournament kicks off on Friday afternoon with a rematch between traditional rivals the Reds and Blues, a showdown between star-studded heavyweights Pau and defending champions Chiefs, and a blockbuster clash between Fiji and the Hurricanes.
On the eve of the tournament you can mingle with rugby royalty at the Gala dinner where you can rub shoulders with international players including Kurtley Beale, Julian Savea, Liam Messam and renowned coaches Robbie Deans and Scott Robertson as well as several rising stars expected to make an impression at the tournament. Book a ticket for the Gala – on Thursday, 8 February from 7pm in the Sofitel Ballroom Le Grand – by emailing [email protected].
The action-filled tournament is perfect for entertaining corporate clients, with one-day corporate entertaining opportunities and a host of ticketing options from hospitality packages.
Gates open on Friday at 1.45pm with the first game kicking off at 2.15pm and the final pool game that evening at 9.30pm. Saturday kicks off at 1.08pm, with the Women’s Grand Final at 7.30pm and Men’s Grand Final at 8.15pm.
With the incredible line-up of teams and the switch to day-night format, the 2018 Brisbane Global Rugby Tens will be one of the premier events on the international rugby calendar.
