Thank you to Next Hotel for hosting the Member Networking Event last month at the Pool Terrace and Bar. The evening saw 150 convention and tourism members networking with fellow industry and Brisbane Marketing staff.

GOMA rouses curiosity with new exhibit

Globally renowned artist Patricia Piccinini occupies GOMA’s entire ground floor with some of her most recognisable works from the past 20 years. The exhibition is a suite of multisensory installations and sculptures of imaginative, yet strangely familiar, hybrid creatures. This is a must-see – book tickets online.

The Queensland Museum’s latest exhibition, Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives, will take you on a journey back 3000 years to reveal the secrets of six ancient mummies. The exhibit, on until 26 August, features more than 200 artefacts from the world-famous Egyptian collections of the British Museum. Book tickets online.
A win for Brisbane ballet lovers
One of the world’s top ballet companies, Teatro alla Scala, will come to Australia for the first time in its 240-year history and perform exclusively at QPAC this November. Tickets for the 2018 Abbey Medieval Festival are on sale. The festival at Caboolture on 14 and 15 July, is a spectacle of everything from the Middle Ages. Visitors are encouraged to wear period costume and cheer on the main event – jousting knights on horseback.
