Accolades for Brisbane’s restauranteurs
Brisbane restaurants are proving to be some of the best in the business. In the Courier Mail Food Awards Urbane was crowned the restaurant of the year. OTTO Brisbane was recognised for their outstanding guest services, taking out ‘Best Service’.
Brisbane waitress Tyler Austin from Stokehouse Q was recently named Australian Young Waiter 2018 at the prestigious Appetite for Excellence Awards.
Brisbane’s Blackbird also received an award for the Best Wine List Queensland in the Best Wine list Australia 2018 awards.

2-Michelin-starred Chef Valentino Marcattilii at Bacchus Brisbane
He’s cooked for Pavarotti, Liza Minelli and Naomi Campbell and now Brisbane diners can also experience the food of 2-Michelin-starred chef Valentino Marcattilii. Hailing from the famed Ristorante San Domenico in northern Italy, Chef Marcattilii will take up residence at Bacchus Brisbane from 18 to 21 September. New ownership and management at Park Hotel
Hotel Urban now The Park Hotel is under new ownership and management. The hotel overlooking the picturesque Roma Street Parklands has been refreshed, the rooms are ready, and the welcome mat is out. A big welcome to new General Manager Jude Pollock and chef Anton Kay.
The Mormons are coming!
The highly-acclaimed musical The Book of Mormon is coming to Brisbane for a limited season from 16 March 2019. The Australian production of the show has notched up 615 performances so far, with every performance selling out. Book now or be disappointed!
Brisbane Arcade in full bloom
Brisbane’s oldest and grandest shopping arcade will be in full bloom from 1 to 7 September for the Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show. The floral themed wonderland will feature carousel horses, a ferris wheel, cake displays, vintage bicycles and of course feature floral installations.
Little artists at play
Creativity calls at the Powerkids: Little Artists at Play free event, every Tuesday during the school term. Sessions run every half hour from 9am until 11.30am for 0-5 year olds and their guardians.
