Six day track cycling races into Brisbane

The Six Day Brisbane will see world-class track cycling meet world-class entertainment. A host of local and international stars will race against a backdrop of bright lights, quality tunes and a frenzied crowd within the celebrated Anna Meares Velodrome from 3 - 5 April. A packed schedule will see elite male and female endurance racers compete each night in several disciplines while the sprinters will entertain the crowds with their furious, fast-paced head-to-head action. Homestead rises from the ashes

Spicers Hidden Vale’s homestead has literally risen from the ashes. The homestead has lovingly been rebuilt after the previous building was lost to fire nearly two years ago. Gourmands will rejoice that Homage Restaurant has returned to the premises. Since the fire, the highly-awarded and hatted restaurant operated from a century-old barn on the property under Executive Chef Ash Martin. Read more here.

Brisbane makes the cool list

Another international travel publication has sung Brisbane’s praises. National Geographic Traveller UK has included Brisbane in ‘The Cool List: 20 must-see destinations for 2020’. The city is the only Australian entry in a list that includes Cairo, Rio de Janeiro and Vietnam. See more here.

Congratulations to Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort Managing Director and sister company Seair Pacific Owner and Chief Pilot, Peter Gash, who has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the General Division for his service to eco-tourism and aviation in the annual Australia Day Honours List.

Sophie creates a captivating cup of coffee

Hilton Brisbane staff member has won the Barista Cup at the Hilton Australasia Food and Beverage Masters. Sophie Dewhurst took the judges’ breath away with her skills and her specially-produced signature coffee, Rosella Delight.

Brisbane airport’s passenger numbers’ growth beats the rest

Passenger numbers keep growing at Brisbane Airport, with the airport recording more than 24.1 million passengers for the first time and achieving the strongest international and domestic growth amongst Australia’s major gateway airports in 2019. Read more.

Grants help Brisbane businesses go global

Ten forward-thinking Brisbane businesses have been awarded the Lord Mayor’s Global Entrepreneur grant to help them take their products global. Each business was awarded $5000 to help expand into global markets and reach new customers. Read more.
