Brisbane Airport and Pullman Brisbane Airport claim prestigious Skytrax Airport Awards
Brisbane Airport Corporation and Pullman Brisbane Airport are celebrating after securing awards in the prestigious global Skytrax World Airport Awards 2019 at a gala industry event held in London.
Brisbane Airport reclaimed the title of Best Airport (Australia/Pacific), while the Pullman Brisbane Airport was awarded the Best Airport Hotel (Australia/Pacific).
This is the third time BNE has claimed Best Airport (Australia/Pacific) in the past four years, while also winning Best Staff (Australia/Pacific) in 2015 and 2017.
BNE also increased its position to 18th in the World’s Top 100 Airports list, up from 22 in 2018 and was the only Australian airport to make it into the top 20.
Pullman Brisbane Airport also secured 5th position in the World’s Best Airport Hotels 2019.

Brisbane takes home four MEA awards in 2019
Representatives from Brisbane’s meetings and events industry have come away with four award winners at the 2019 Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) National Awards.
Held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre as a part of the industry’s Evolve 2019 Conference, the MEA awards brought together the best around Australia and recognised those at the top of the nation in the meetings and events industry.
Brisbane’s winners were:
Association event of the year: ICMS Australasia for the IEEE 2018 International Conference on Robotics and Automation

Farmers and foodies ready for Scenic Rim Eat Local Week
Featuring more than 90 events across a week, Scenic Rim Eat Local Week is on again this year, which is the ultimate backstage pass to the farms, wineries and food stories of the region
Running between June 29 through to July 7, the event provides the opportunity to meet the people behind the produce and the flavours, featuring festivals, farm-gate events and culinary experiences for foodies of all ages.
Paniyiri Greek Festival
Brisbane’s famous Paniyiri Greek Festival will take over Musgrave Park on 18 May, with a two-day celebration of authentic flavours and culture.
More than 30 authentic Greek food stalls and traditional flavour makers will showcase the sights, smells and tastes from all regions of Greece.
There will also be Greek dancing, traditional cooking demonstrations, lectures and historical and art displays, church tours and a kids zone.
Something Digital to run “The State of Digital in Brisbane” event
The Something Digital team is continuing their journey to be at forefront of global conversations in the Digital space, with their next event ‘the State of Digital in Brisbane’ set for May 30.
The event will showcase what's changed in the last 12 months, what's stayed the same and what the digital businesses in Brisbane need to focus on for the year ahead.
Airtain launches new Mandarin service video
AirTrain have launched a new simplified Chinese webpage to showcases their “How to catch Airtrain” video in Mandarin.
The new video will support the information on their Brisbane City and Gold Coast services including the G:link tram connection and limousine chauffeur connection, while also providing information on travelling using TransLink Smartcards including go card, go SeeQ and go explore.
