Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival to host livestreams
Miss out on tickets to this year’s sold-out Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival? You can still get your fashion fix thanks to a new initiative launched as part of this year’s event.
For the first time, Brisbane City Council and the Fashion Festival have joined forces to Facebook Live Stream every runway show on the event’s calendar, providing the next best thing to a front-row seat.
Not only does this mean audiences can tune in from anywhere in Australia, or around the globe, it also reflects the growing trend of live streaming being used by the world’s top fashion brands.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane Live Streams will include runway footage and will be hosted by Australian actress, model, TV presenter, and Miss World Australia for 2014, Courtney Thorpe.
Filmed and produced by TPD Media, viewers will get access to some of the most exclusive areas within the Fashion Festival home at Old Government House, including a backstage pass for the first look at the hair and make-up directions for the shows, and access to exclusive pre and post-show parties.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane was important in raising awareness of the city’s fashion capabilities, which as a creative industry are considered a growth sector under the Brisbane 2022 New World City Action Plan.
“I congratulate the organisers for attracting a capacity crowd to this event and taking the initiative through the live stream of showcasing Brisbane’s creativity to a national audience and potentially overseas,” Cr Quirk said.
