Save the date: Tourism and Convention Member networking night
Join us at the brand-new, five-screen Elizabeth Picture Theatre in the heritage-listed Tara House for the latest Member Networking night on Monday, 13 November.
Be among the first to view the new cinema, while you rub shoulders with the rest of Brisbane’s business community.
The Elizabeth Picture Theatre is located in Tara House, formerly the Old Irish Club in Elizabeth St. It will offer an affordable and quality cinema experience to movie-goers of all ages.
The Sourris brothers, Stephen and Peter, are the passionate movie-lovers behind the project and are the same team behind the refurbishment of the New Farm Cinemas in 2013. The new theatre is dedicated to giving cinema fans a mix of retro style and state-of-the-art sound and vision, while also bringing the “experience” back to a trip to the movies.
The Elizabeth Picture Theatre is a five-screen complex, with two cinemas in the old function rooms known as The Tara Room and The Harp Room.
The ballroom ceiling from the old ballroom has been kept intact and is the showcase piece for The Tara Room. The theatre also features three premium cinemas called The Royal Rooms, which include full reclining seats and food and beverage service to the seats. The venue has a full bar, a fully operational kitchen plus a private boardroom and outdoor entertainment area. The Elizabeth Picture Theatre opened on Thursday, 5 October.
