Situated on the Brisbane River, and central to the bustling New Farm Park precinct, Brisbane Powerhouse boasts a year-round outdoor cinema as well as an alfresco theatre l hosting concerts, cabaret, comedy and circus events in the great outdoors.  

Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art  

The expansive Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) consistently ranks among the most visited Australian art museums, and in the world’s top 50. QAGOMA boasts a globally significant collection of more than 20,000 artworks, including the world’s largest collections of contemporary Asian and Pacific works, and hosts the renowned Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT).  

Queensland Performing Arts Centre 

The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) welcomes a diverse range of live performance events and experiences to the South Bank cultural precinct year-round. A new $175 million, 1,500-seat theatre is set to open at the venue in 2024, making QPAC the largest performing arts centre in Australia.

Widely considered to be one of Australia’s most beautiful performance venues, The Tivoli’s indoor theatre boasts over 100 years of history, including performances by Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift, Lily Allen and Katy Perry, just to name a few.  

Princess Theatre  

Queensland’s oldest-standing theatre is now Brisbane’s newest home for live music and performing arts. Lovingly restored and re-opened to the public in 2021, the venue boasts a state-of-the-art performance auditorium, four bars, a public café and private event spaces.

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) has an enviable track record of consistently hosting successful national and international events in the heart of South Bank. The venue has a global reputation for excellence, as reflected by its many awards, including the AIPC APEX ‘World’s Best’ Convention Centre Award for 2016 to 2018.  

Brisbane Showgrounds  

Brisbane Showgrounds is a world-class events and lifestyle precinct located just 1.5km from the city centre. It incorporates the Royal International Convention Centre and the Main Arena, as well as multiple pavilions and outdoor marquees.  

Roma Street Parkland  

Roma Street Parkland has a variety of venues available for hire to suit private gatherings or your next corporate function, as well as public spaces to host community festivals. Roma Street Parkland reflects Brisbane’s status as Australia’s greenest city, with designer gardens and sprawling lawns that wind around 16 hectares of stunning parklands.  

South Bank Parklands  

The South Bank Parklands precinct is a 17-hectare urban playground of riverfront land that includes a rainforest walk, a free public beach, licensed picnic areas and more. It’s also home to a year-round calendar of events and plenty of eateries, including the award-winning River Quay.  

Stadiums and Sporting Venues

Having hosted English Premier League matches, international rugby, cricket, tennis and cycling competitions, not to mention the 2020 AFL and 2021 NRL Grand Final, Brisbane is cementing its claim as Australia’s sporting capital.  

The Gabba  

Standing proud for more than a century, The Gabba is a renowned icon on the Brisbane landscape and the arena for domestic and international cricket, AFL and concerts. The legendary venue is set to receive a billion-dollar upgrade to host the Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies and the Olympic and Paralympic track and field events.  

Suncorp Stadium  

Queensland’s most sacred ground, Suncorp Stadium is Brisbane’s mecca for sport, hosting national and international rugby league, rugby union and soccer clashes and blockbuster concerts. 

Queensland Tennis Centre 

Host of the Brisbane International and ATP Cup, the Queensland Tennis Centre has been graced by the biggest names in the sport, from Serena Williams to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The centre includes a main arena, two showcourts and 22 match and training courts.  

Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre  

Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC) is a popular event space and a premier training hub for junior and elite athletes. The venue includes the State Athletics Facility, Main Stadium, Nissan Arena and ‘The Beach’ Volleyball Complex.   

Sleeman Sports Complex  

Home to the Anna Meares Velodrome, BMX Supercross Track, Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Chandler Arena and Gymnastics Hall, Sleeman Sports Complex is one of Queensland’s premier multipurpose sporting and entertainment venues, with highly advanced facilities and a reputation for producing some of Australia’s most talented and successful athletes.  

Anna Meares Velodrome  

The venue for cycling at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the Anna Meares Velodrome is built to Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) standards, and features a wide track that favours team pursuit cycling.  

Allan Border Field & National Cricket Centre  

Complementing the Allan Border Field, the National Cricket Centre provides world-class training facilities for Australia’s national and emerging cricketers.   

Brisbane International Shooting Centre  

Redeveloped for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the Brisbane International Shooting Centre now hosts four international-level shooting ranges (10m, 25m, 50m and Finals) for the small bore rifle, air rifle and pistol shooting disciplines.
