Brisbane Economic Development Board's leadership team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.

Anthony Ryan, Chief Executive Officer


Anthony Ryan is Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s Chief Executive Officer.

Recognised as a ‘Queensland Great’ in 2013, Anthony is a well-respected and self-confessed sport loving local who is known for the passion and entrepreneurial spirit that he brings to all professional endeavours.

An inspiring leader with a proven track record in delivering strategic business outcomes and strong partnerships, Anthony is responsible for leading Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) to drive sustainable economic growth for the City.

As Brisbane’s champion, BEDA works with stakeholders to enhance the City’s reputation globally, drive visitation and attract investment and talent, whilst looking ahead at emerging opportunities for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Previously CEO of Youngcare, Anthony pioneered the transformation of the national not-for-profit organisation into an innovative and entrepreneurial company that provides meaningful solutions and choices for young people with high physical care needs.

Juliet Alabaster, Chief Operating Officer


Juliet Alabaster is passionate about her role overseeing the delivery of Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s strategic priorities, to grow the city’s economy through increased investment and visitation.

Juliet has a strong destination management background and her focus is to drive improved economic outcomes for Brisbane’s businesses as industry rebounds from the current global position.

Having worked at Brisbane Economic Development Agency since 2008, Juliet carries a wealth of experience to this position, and has spent many years championing Brisbane’s tourism, business event and major events capabilities.

Focused on delivering high-quality outcomes, Juliet leads her team to drive demand for Brisbane as an exciting tourist destination, create growth and trade opportunities for local businesses, and ultimately help provide a better quality of life for businesses and residents throughout Brisbane.

Jon Kritzinger, Chief Financial Officer


Brisbane Economic Development Agency's Chief Financial Officer, Jon Kritzinger, is responsible for financial management, information technology, risk management, corporate administration and insurance. 

A Chartered Accountant with more than 16 years' experience in management accounting and financial management has a strong background working in medium-sized companies, with particular expertise in the manufacturing and retail construction sectors. 

Jon has held a number of directorships on various divisional boards and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.

Lorelle Chittick, General Manager - Tourism, Business & Major Events


Lorelle Chittick is the General Manager of Tourism, Business and Major Events with Brisbane’s Economic Development Agency, BEDA. In this role, Lorelle leads a team generating long-term economic growth for Brisbane through the attraction and support of meetings, conferences and incentives; major events including sporting blockbusters, cultural performances and exhibitions, and increasing visitors and visitor spend in Brisbane. 

Lorelle has a strong conventions, tourism and events background, having worked across a diverse range of organisations in the UK, Canada and Australia. Working with BEDA since 2005, Lorelle has been instrumental in raising Brisbane’s profile as a world-class destination to visit, meet and do business. 

Abigail Chambers, General Manager - Human Resources


Abigail Chambers is a strategic human resources professional who leads Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s workforce relations division.

With a successful international career spanning more than two decades across a number of industries, including economic development, banking, resources, engineering and health, Abigail brings a high-level and strategic approach to her role as General Manager - Human Resources.

Abigail is an active member of the Australian Human Resource Institute, and provides strategic guidance and expertise in industrial relations, corporate culture and change management, workplace diversity and inclusivity, global best-practice recruitment, and integrating communications into corporate business.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Abigail joined Brisbane Economic Development Agency in 2018.

Miriam Kent, General Manager - Business Growth, Trade & Talent


Miriam Kent is the General Manager of Business Growth, Trade & Talent and Brisbane Business Hub for Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA). Miriam is passionate about her role and works hand-in-hand with the Brisbane businesses community to help local businesses grow, scale and thrive economically.

Miriam has a wealth of knowledge in customer experience, stakeholder engagement, and international business development, with a commercial mindset gained from 20 years in the private sector and 13 years with local government. Miriam is experienced in understanding the needs of businesses and can support their needs to expand and scale internationally and also how to support international businesses establish in Brisbane.

Having worked at Brisbane City Council for over a decade leading transformational customer experience projects and delivering community facilities and strategies, she is focused on delivering resources to empower businesses, and actively advocates and champions support for the Brisbane business community. Having also worked for over 15 years internationally in the retail sector, Miriam understands the economic impact of private sector growth and expansion.

Miriam joined the BEDA team to launch Brisbane Business Hub in October 2020.

Simone Lenneberg - General Manager, Corporate Communications & Partnerships


As General Manager, Corporate Communications and Partnerships, Simone is responsible for the strategic leadership of Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s (BEDA) communication, media and content activity, brand positioning and reputation management. As a key member of BEDA’s Executive Leadership Team, Simone leads the Corporate Communications and Partnerships team, working holistically across the business to develop BEDA’s strategic framework for external communication and stakeholder engagement to deliver outcomes that drive Brisbane’s economy, and amplifies BEDA and the City of Brisbane’s profile with key stakeholder groups globally.

A strategic thinker and passionate communicator with more than 25 years' experience, Simone has worked in senior roles with well-known brands including Australia Post, Wizard Home Loans, Welsey Hospital, National Heart Foundation, and RSL Queensland, spanning content marketing, social media, marketing communication, brand, PR and public affairs. She has also worked across all levels of government with her deep passion for Brisbane developed over nine years at Brisbane City Council as the Editorial and Content Manager for Australia’s largest local government authority.

Simone has spearheaded the development of content marketing and channel development initiatives throughout her career by connecting audiences with brands through purposeful storytelling informed by data and insights.
