Hear the City Sounds from home
Brisbane’s free live music program City Sounds is taking its tunes online, encouraging its artists to keep playing, recording and uploading their music from their living rooms.
Brisbane Marketing CEO Brett Fraser said musicians that are a part of the City Sounds program would still be supported during this time through an adaption of the program called City Sound Bites.
“The City Sounds program exists to give local artists exposure and offer audiences a chance to discover and enjoy original music in Brisbane,” Mr Fraser said.
“While the live outdoor performances are paused for now, we can still provide a digital platform for City Sounds artists to play to a larger audience so they can continue to be recognised and paid for their talent.
“City Sound Bites is about continuing to support local independent musicians during this time, while also allowing people to tune in, connect, and enjoy their music from home.”
Each week a new City Sounds artist will be featured online, and their own home recordings of their most popular songs will be available to play in your own living room.
City Sound Bites kicks off this Saturday 11 April on The City channels:
- Facebook: @BrisbaneCity,
- Instagram: @BrisbaneCity
The first artist to be featured will be Hailey Calvert (image available on request).
