Steven Silvester, General Manager of Investment and Industry Development
Steven Silvester is responsible for leading Brisbane’s foreign direct investment strategies, and developing long term industry development programs that are focussed on growing local industry capabilities.
As the head of Brisbane EDA’s Investment and Industry Development division, he works with companies from a variety of industry sectors, and supports their investments by providing intelligence, advice, property solutions and partnership support.
Steven is an industry leader in economic development and foreign direct investment, and has secured investment across a range of industry sectors. He has been active in the Foreign Direct Investment industry for 12 years, working with multinational companies and their investments in infrastructure, energy and resources, tourism, property, information technology and renewables industries.
Andy Davison, Head of Industrial Investment
Andy Davison’s role in Brisbane EDA's Investment and Industry Development division involves attracting international business investment to Brisbane and supporting the growth and global expansion of domestic businesses. He has a special focus on the food, beverage and agriculture sectors.
A diplomat for over 20 years, Andy has experience leading trade and investment portfolios across the UK, Europe, Africa and South Asia.
Prior to joining Brisbane EDA, Andy worked with cities to deliver growth and investment programs and campaigns in areas including the USA, Middle East, South America, ASEAN and China.
Dustin Welch, Head of Property and Tourism
Dustin Welch’s role in Brisbane EDA's Investment and Industry Development division involves driving economic growth by facilitating direct investment in key city-building projects. This involves attracting international and domestic investment and ensuring job-creating developments are delivered.
Dustin has a special focus on precinct scale investments, social infrastructure, education, hotels, tourism infrastructure and commercial development.
Dustin’s transactional background in commercial property and roles in the planning, delivery and investment of major health precincts across Australia’s eastern seaboard provide a specialist skillset in all facets of commercial development.
Lisa Cavallaro, Industry Development Manager (Food)
Lisa Cavallaro’s role in Brisbane EDA’s Investment and Industry Development division involves project and stakeholder management, specialising in developing the region’s food and agribusiness sector.
She offers access to a network of industry stakeholders, and the ability to assist with the implementation of business development programs and creating connections with the sector.
As part of her role in industry stakeholder management and investment, Lisa heads up Brisbane EDA’s Future Food Initiative, a platform of industry development programs, which helps food businesses improve their business capability and readiness for the domestic and global market.
Oriana Wyrozebska, Senior Investment Manager (Tourism Infrastructure)
Oriana Wyrozebska’s role in Brisbane EDA’s Investment and Industry Development division involves supporting domestic and international investors looking for opportunities in the Greater Brisbane region. Her focus is on key industries, including hotel investment, entertainment, leisure and tourism projects.
She also facilitates business development programs, liaises with public and private sector allies, and works on strategy development and business planning.
Oriana has specialist skills in hotel valuation, feasibility and brokerage, with a track record of achievements covers investment and advisory projects globally (specifically Europe and Australia) in the private and public sector. She can also execute investments deals that add to the bottom line and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for stakeholders.
Charan Judge, Investment Manager (Industrial)
Charan Judge’s role in Brisbane EDA’s Investment and Industry Development division involves attracting and facilitating international and domestic investment in the Greater Brisbane region. His focus is on key industries, including food and agribusiness, logistics and distribution, and advanced manufacturing.
He can assist in preparation of business cases, developing and implementing business development programs, liaising with public and private sector allies and working closely with the State and Federal agencies on market entry, strategy development and business planning.
Charan also provides insight to prospective businesses relating to property selection, labour analysis, grants & incentives, and facilitate key introductions to local stakeholders.
Grant Flynn, Senior Investment Analyst
Grant Flynn’s role in Brisbane EDA’s Investment and Industry Development division involves providing economic and statistical research relating to key industry sectors, with a focus on assisting with the development and execution of business plans and strategies for prospective investors.
His role involves promoting Brisbane to prospective investors as an attractive destination across industrial, food and agriculture, technology, commercial property and tourism sectors, utilising market research and analysis.
Grant also helps to attract and facilitate investments through the production of insightful collateral, lead generation and meetings with external stakeholders and key industry representatives.
Isaac Coonan, Senior Industry Development Manager, Technology
Isaac Coonan’s role in Brisbane EDA’s Industry Growth and Trade division involves supporting the property technology (proptech) industry through bespoke initiatives that drive sector wide growth.
Isaac is also responsible for overseeing city’s startup and business hub, The Capital, that supports local businesses as they look to scale interstate and internationally. He can help support businesses through leveraging a vast network of industry and government contacts, along with programming business support content through The Capital and community.
Isaac has 10-plus years’ experience in building innovative, digital and teach communities. Prior to joining Brisbane EDA, he was Australia and South East Director for Second Century Ventures’ REACH venture and scaleup program.
