Queensland University of Technology – Kelvin Grove

Kelvin Grove Markets

Every Saturday from 6am-1pm, Kelvin Grove Village transforms into a lively and friendly farmers’ market. While fresh fruit and veg take centre stage, there’s also arts and crafts, second-hand clothing, plants and flowers to peruse.

DannyBoys Rock Star Sandwiches

A student hot spot for fresh, delicious and nutritious sandwiches. The secret’s in the French-style bread with no preservatives and the DannyBoys signature whole free-range egg mayonnaise. *Drools*

Carraway Pier

Direct from the pier to Carraway St is some damn fine fish (and chips). Feedback from students is that it’s great value, great food and great service. That’s a win.

The Coterie

The Coterie

Kelvin Grove campus is home to creative startup hub and coworking space The Coterie. It’s in the creative industries faculty and it’s a casual, creative space where students and entrepreneurs come together to create beautiful things ... like Peppermint Magazine!

Queensland University of Technology – Gardens Point

The Pantry Café

An absolute gem on campus at QUT is the cafe now living in the Old Government House building. Its open courtyard is the perfect place to soak up some sun between classes with a coffee. We recommend you try the house-baked scones with berry compote and double cream.

The Cube

The Cube at QUT

This is one of the world's largest digital interactive learning and display spaces made up of 48 screens spanning across two levels. The colourful and interactive instalments you’ll find here are a product of the research products happening in the university.

Botanic Bar

QUT’s own on-campus student bar is the only place to be on a Friday arvo. Play pool, put your feet up, forget the week’s worries. Find more student bars here.

Brisbane City Botanic Gardens

City Botanic Gardens

Neighbouring QUT’s Garden Point campus is Brisbane’s biggest inner-city gardens. Here you’ll find walking tracks, park benches, little lakes and many places to relax between classes.

University of Queensland – St Lucia

Nano’s Coffee Shop

Nothing fancy here, just downright great coffee. Stop by for your mandatory morning caffeine fix. It’s also good on the iced coffee front.

Pizza Caffe

UQ Pizza Caffe

A to Z of amazing pizza? Yes please. This place has been called great by a number of reputable authorities, from famous celebs to UQ’s students themselves. We got excited about the Nino Rota pizza with beef, capsicum, onion, jalapenos with guacamole.

Saint Lucy

Feeling the effects of your Sunday session or Wednesday winesday? Not to worry. Saint Lucy has brunch covered with all the delicious hangover food you need (i.e. eggs benny and waffles). Alternatively, you can get a dose of Italiano on its lunch and dinner menu.

UQ Lakes

Get some fresh air, take a stroll, have a nap, eat lunch, bird-watch … these are all perfect procrastination activities and best done by the picturesque lakes on campus at UQ.

Griffith University – Nathan

Café Rossa

All the Italian classics, without the Italian price tag. The daily pasta and risotto special is always good, made with in-season produce. Also very cheap wine and beer.

University of the Sunshine Coast – Sippy Downs

Art Gallery

USC has an established art gallery on campus, open to the public and students. Focusing on contemporary art, the exhibitions change throughout the year, showcasing a range of new media, photography, painting, drawing and sculpture, illustration and student exhibitions.

Central Queensland University – Brisbane

Café Pronto/Dramanti

This great little coffee, breakfast and brunch spot can be found at the entrance of CQU’s Brisbane City campus. It serves killer coffee from 6am weekdays.
