Primary and Secondary Schools
Brisbane schools are internationally recognised for providing high-quality education to all students and provide a wide range of both government and private schools.
Primary school is compulsory education delivered from Year 1 to 6. Students are taught a range of foundational skills and knowledge based on a combination of the Australian Curriculum and the Queensland Curriculum.
Secondary (also known as senior or high school) is delivered from Year 7 to 12. It’s the final period of compulsory education for Queensland students.
Brisbane schools also offer a Prep Year, a one-year, full-time program available to children in the year before they start primary school.
